This skid steer rotating tree shear attachment is a hydraulic-powered land clearing tool designed for operators who need to cut, fell, and selectively harvest trees and brush from wooded lots, fence lines, right-of-way corridors, and overgrown fields — all from the safety of the skid steer cab. With a maximum jaw opening of 300 mm, the attachment handles trees and brush stems up to 300 mm in diameter in a single hydraulic cut, making it one of the most capable tree shears available for standard skid steer loaders.
The three-position rotating head is the core operational advantage of this skid steer tree shear attachment. By manually positioning the cutting head at 0, 45, or 90 degrees before each cut, the operator controls the direction the tree falls — ensuring it consistently drops to the right for predictable, safe felling in tight spaces, near structures, and along fence lines where uncontrolled falling direction would create hazards or damage. This directional control capability is what separates a rotating tree shear from a fixed-head design, and it is particularly valuable for selective harvesting operations where specific trees must be removed while adjacent vegetation is preserved. The heat-treated AR400 abrasion-resistant steel blades maintain a sharp cutting edge through thousands of cycles against hardwood, softwood, and dense brush, significantly extending blade service life compared to standard steel alternatives.
The attachment mounts to any skid steer loader via a universal quick-attach plate for fast, tool-free installation and operates at 16 MPa with a hydraulic flow requirement of 60 LPM. Note that this attachment is designed specifically for cutting and felling trees at ground level — it is not intended for uprooting root systems or dragging debris, and should be paired with a separate grapple or rake attachment for post-clearing cleanup operations.
