Product Overview

The EALITA Hydraulic Timber Log Grab is a heavy-duty forklift attachment purpose-built for the safe, efficient, and secure handling of raw logs, sawn timber bundles, loose log offcuts, wood chips, and irregular timber waste across sawmills, timber processing plants, logging yards, wood chip processing facilities, construction sites, and landscape material suppliers. Available in Class 3A configurations for 3–3.5 tonne forklifts with a choice of two-claw and four-claw configurations and maximum opening ranges up to 2,120 mm, this hydraulic log grab gives a standard counterbalance forklift the gripping power, tilt control, and load security of a purpose-built timber handling machine — without the capital cost of dedicated forestry or log handling equipment.

The high-strength steel claw assembly is engineered to grip logs and timber bundles firmly and consistently throughout the complete handling cycle — from initial grab engagement through yard travel to final placement — without allowing load shift, roll, or drop under the dynamic forces generated during forklift acceleration, braking, and travel across uneven ground surfaces. The curved claw geometry conforms to the cylindrical profile of individual logs and the irregular outer surface of bundled timber stacks, distributing clamping force broadly across the contact surface rather than concentrating it at isolated points — protecting log surface integrity while maintaining the secure mechanical grip required for safe transport at full forklift operating speed.

The choice between two-claw and four-claw configurations allows operators to match the grab to their specific timber handling requirements. The two-claw model delivers a streamlined, lower-weight grab solution optimized for handling individual large-diameter logs, uniform sawn timber bundles, and consistent log stacks where a clean opposing-jaw grip provides sufficient load retention across the full handling cycle. The four-claw model adds two additional claw engagement points, creating a multi-point grip pattern that prevents individual pieces from slipping through the grab when handling loose, irregular, or mixed-size timber loads — including log offcuts, wood chip accumulations, bark piles, and mixed timber waste — where load consistency and uniformity cannot be guaranteed. The four-claw configuration is the preferred choice for high-cycle timber waste processing and chip handling operations where maximum load retention across variable material formats is the primary operational requirement.

The integrated hydraulic tilt function delivers 45 degrees of forward tilt and 25 degrees of backward tilt, controlled directly from the forklift cab via the auxiliary hydraulic circuit. Forward tilt enables precise angular placement of log bundles onto processing equipment infeed conveyors, transport vehicle decks, and angled storage racks — eliminating the manual repositioning and secondary handling steps required when placing timber loads with fixed-orientation grabs. Backward tilt retains loose timber loads, offcuts, and wood chip accumulations securely within the claw assembly during travel across rough yard surfaces, construction site terrain, and uneven ground conditions, preventing load loss from the grab during transit between collection and deposit points. This tilt capability is particularly valuable when loading logs onto inclined processing infeed systems and when depositing timber bundles into angled storage bays where precise angular placement directly affects processing efficiency and storage density.

The optional bucket configuration allows the same forklift carriage mounting to support a bucket attachment alongside the timber grab, enabling the operator to switch between grab and bucket functions within the same operational shift. This bucket-on option is especially valuable at timber processing sites where both log and bundle grabbing and loose material scooping — including sawdust collection, wood chip loading, and bark removal — are required across different stages of the same processing workflow, eliminating the need to change attachments between tasks or deploy a second machine for bucket-based material handling operations.

The two-circuit hydraulic system operates at a working pressure of 16 MPa with a flow requirement of 60 LPM, compatible with the auxiliary hydraulic circuits of standard Class 3A counterbalance forklifts equipped with two hydraulic valve circuits. The full opening range of 0 to 2,027 mm on the standard two and four-claw models and 0 to 2,120 mm on the wide-body four-claw configuration accommodates the complete spectrum of log diameters and timber bundle widths encountered in commercial timber handling — from small-diameter plantation softwood logs to large hardwood sections and wide multi-row sawn timber bundle stacks.

Whether you are handling raw logs at a sawmill intake yard, moving sawn timber bundles between drying and processing stations at a wood products plant, collecting and transporting wood chip and offcut waste at a timber processing facility, loading logs onto transport vehicles at a logging yard, or managing mixed timber and green waste at a construction or landscaping site, the EALITA Hydraulic Timber Log Grab delivers the claw grip security, 45° tilt precision, and two or four-claw configuration flexibility your operation demands — every log, every bundle, every shift.
