This skid steer scrap shears attachment is a hydraulic-powered metal cutting tool built for demolition contractors, scrap metal recyclers, and steel processing operators who need fast, precise cutting of structural steel, rebar, pipe, sheet metal, and mixed scrap material directly from the skid steer cab. With a 64-inch (1,630 mm) frame width and a jaw opening range of 0–200 mm, the attachment handles a wide variety of material profiles and cross-sections in a single hydraulic cycle.
The 360-degree continuous rotation system is the defining operational advantage of this hydraulic scrap shear skid steer attachment. The operator can rotate the shear head to any angle from the cab without repositioning the machine, allowing precise alignment with structural members, pipe runs, and awkwardly oriented scrap piles — dramatically reducing cycle time on demolition sites and scrap yards where material orientation is unpredictable. This full-rotation capability sets the S-SS1630 apart from fixed-head shears that require the operator to repeatedly reposition the machine to achieve the correct cutting angle.
The unique straight lower jaw design distributes material evenly along the full length of the jaw during each cut, rather than concentrating it at the apex as conventional curved-jaw shears do. This distribution effect maximizes the effective cutting force across the entire jaw surface, reducing the risk of material jamming or exceeding the shear's cutting capacity on dense or compressed scrap bundles. The result is cleaner cuts, fewer re-cuts, and higher throughput per hour on both demolition and scrap processing applications. Operating at 16 MPa with a hydraulic flow requirement of 60 LPM, the attachment mounts to any skid steer via a universal quick-attach plate for fast, tool-free installation.
