The John Deere Bale Spear Attachment is a purpose-built hay handling frame designed for direct compatibility with John Deere front loaders using the hook and pin connection system. Rated to a safe working load of 2,000 kg under Class 2A standards, this bale spear frame gives John Deere tractor operators a reliable, heavy-duty solution for lifting, carrying, and stacking round bales and square bales without the need for adapters or third-party mounting hardware.
The frame is equipped with a main spear measuring φ45 mm in diameter and 1,250 mm (approximately 49 inches) in length, providing the penetration depth needed to center and secure large round bales during lifting. Two stabilizer spears, each φ40 mm in diameter and 432 mm in length, are positioned on either side of the main spear to prevent bale rotation and lateral movement during transport, keeping the load stable and controlled even when moving across uneven ground or at loader height.
The hook and pin connection is engineered to match the mounting geometry of John Deere loader quick-attach systems, allowing the bale spear frame to be installed and removed quickly without tools. This makes it practical to switch between the bale spear and other loader attachments during the same work session, reducing downtime when transitioning between hay handling and other farm tasks. The overall frame dimensions of 1,297 × 1,154 × 738 mm and a total weight of 94 kg keep the attachment manageable while maintaining the structural strength needed for repeated heavy bale handling.
While the standard configuration is designed for John Deere hook and pin loaders, this bale spear frame is also available with alternative bracket types including Euro, SMS Trima, Big BM, and other mounting systems on request. This flexibility makes the attachment accessible to operators running different loader brands who need the same reliable bale handling performance. The frame construction is built to withstand the demands of daily farm use, with heavy-duty steel throughout the main spear, stabilizer arms, and mounting bracket.
