This skid steer sickle bar hedge trimmer attachment is a hydraulic-powered cutting system designed for operators who need to trim hedges, manage roadside vegetation, and maintain fence lines quickly and precisely from the skid steer cab. With a 66-inch (1,680 mm) cutting bar, a 1,800 mm reach arm, and 0–90 degree hydraulic rotation from horizontal to vertical, the attachment handles everything from low ground-level trimming to elevated hedge cutting in a single setup — recommended for machines with 80 HP or above for optimal cutting performance.

The single-pin swivel mechanism is the defining feature that separates this skid steer hedge cutter from conventional fixed-head trimmers. By removing just one pin, the operator can rotate the entire cutting head to the opposite side of the arm — enabling the attachment to cut behind fences, reach into tight corners, and trim vegetation on the reverse face of hedgerows that would be completely inaccessible to standard hedge cutters. This reverse-cutting capability is particularly valuable for maintaining fence lines on both sides in a single pass and for trimming into corners where repositioning the machine would otherwise be required. The straight-ahead cutting orientation combined with the skid steer's responsive steering makes it easy to achieve a neat, even cut along the full length of any hedge or fence line.

The spring breakaway system provides automatic protection for the cutting head when it contacts an unexpected obstacle such as a fence post, hidden branch, or buried debris — the head deflects on impact and springs back to the cutting position immediately, preventing the blade damage and downtime that fixed-head cutters suffer in the same situation. Two hydraulic hoses connect the cutting bar to the loader's auxiliary circuit, with the extra auxiliary port controlling the hydraulic ram for horizontal-to-vertical adjustment. Operating at 16 MPa with a flow rate of 60 LPM, the S-HC1680(66IN)-MP1140 mounts to any skid steer via a universal quick-attach plate for fast, tool-free installation.
