Product Overview

The Excavator Weld-On Hitch Bracket is a precision-manufactured attachment conversion component designed to retrofit standard excavator buckets, grabs, and other front-end attachments with a compatible hitch interface — enabling existing attachments to be used with quick hitch coupler systems or to match the specific bracket geometry required by the host excavator's dipper arm configuration. Available in nine model configurations specifically engineered for John Deere and Kubota excavators, as well as universal configurations for a broader range of machine brands, these weld-on hitch brackets provide the most cost-effective method of upgrading existing attachment inventory to quick hitch compatibility without replacing the attachment itself — preserving the capital investment in existing buckets and tooling while expanding their operational versatility across different machines and coupling systems on the same worksite.

Each model in the E-JD and E-KX series is dimensionally engineered to match the specific dipper arm pin geometry and bracket spacing of its target machine brand and model class. The E-JD17 (55 × 262 mm, 4 kg) and E-JD35 (108 × 346 mm, 11 kg) are designed for John Deere 17 and 35 class mini excavators respectively, while the E-JD60 (102 × 413 mm, 13 kg) serves John Deere 60 class machines in the 6–8 tonne range. The E-KX121 (95 × 330 mm, 11 kg) is engineered for the Kubota KX121 compact excavator, the ME-KX057 (108 × 433 mm, 18 kg) for the Kubota KX057, the ME-KX080 (111 × 458 mm, 27 kg) for the Kubota KX080, and the ME-KX040 (113 × 330 mm, 13 kg) for the Kubota KX040 — covering the most widely deployed Kubota KX-series compact excavators used across residential construction, landscaping, drainage, and utility installation applications. The ME-U17 (122 × 247 mm, 7 kg) and ME-U25 (87 × 216 mm, 7 kg) provide universal configurations for mini excavators in the 1–2.5 tonne class from other manufacturers where a standard hitch geometry is required without brand-specific dimensional constraints.

Installation of the weld-on hitch bracket is performed by welding the bracket directly to the rear face of the excavator bucket, grab, or attachment body at the specified mounting position — creating a permanent, integrated hitch interface that becomes part of the attachment structure and carries the full operating load of the attachment through the weld joint to the bracket body and dipper arm pins. The bracket material is selected for weldability with standard structural steel bucket bodies, and the precision-machined pin bore and bracket face geometry ensures accurate alignment with the dipper arm pins and quick hitch coupler interface after welding, without the need for post-weld machining or adjustment. Welding should be performed by a qualified structural welder using appropriate filler material and preheat procedures for the bucket steel specification to ensure full penetration and adequate heat-affected zone toughness at the weld joint.

The primary application of the weld-on hitch bracket is the conversion of existing pin-on excavator buckets and attachments to quick hitch compatibility — allowing attachments originally purchased for direct pin-on use to be operated through a mechanical or hydraulic quick hitch coupler system installed on the same machine, eliminating the need to purchase new quick hitch-compatible attachments and maximising the return on existing attachment investment. Secondary applications include the replacement of worn or damaged original hitch brackets on existing attachments where the factory-fitted bracket has deteriorated beyond serviceable condition, and the modification of non-standard or imported attachments to match the specific bracket geometry required by the host excavator's dipper arm or quick hitch system.

Select the correct model for your excavator brand and model using the specification table below — matching the bracket width, height, and weight to your machine's dipper arm pin spacing and the attachment body dimensions available for bracket welding. For John Deere and Kubota excavators, select the model designated for your specific machine class; for other brands, the ME-U17 or ME-U25 universal configurations provide a starting point that can be confirmed against your machine's pin geometry.
